Frequently asked

Do I need my own Stripe account?
Yes. Tollwicket is software that sits on top of your Stripe — we don't take payments on your behalf. This means your customers pay you directly, and you keep your customer relationship if you ever leave us.
How do you charge me?
We charge a flat monthly fee based on the customer payments your MCP server is processing (rolling 30-day window). Free until $500/mo. After that, the tier you land in is what you pay — nothing per-call, no surprises.
Whose name is on the customer's credit-card statement?
Yours. Stripe Checkout runs under your brand. The receipt comes from your business. We are never the merchant of record — your customer doesn't even need to know we exist.
What happens with refunds and chargebacks?
You handle them via your Stripe dashboard, the same way you would for any Stripe-powered product. We sync the subscription state via webhook so your entitlements stay accurate.
What if I exceed a tier in a single month?
You get 14 days to upgrade. If you don't add a card and subscribe by then, we pause your dashboard's ability to create new plans/customers — but existing entitlements keep working so your current customers don't notice.
What if my revenue drops next month?
Your tier auto-adjusts down at the next billing cycle. Pay less when you make less. No annual lock-in.
Can I leave whenever I want?
Yes. Your customers, plans, and Stripe Prices all live on your own Stripe account — when you remove our SDK, payments keep working. We don't hold anything hostage.
Why a Stripe restricted key (and not a full secret key)?
A restricted key with limited scopes (Customers, Products, Prices, Checkout, Webhooks) is much safer than handing over your full Stripe access. Even in the worst case where our system is compromised, attackers can't touch your payouts, bank info, or tax settings. Takes 30 seconds to create in your Stripe dashboard.
Do you support per-call usage billing?
The decorator gates per-call pricing today (your tool refuses if quota is exceeded). Recurring usage-based BILLING via Stripe Meters is on the roadmap. For now, set a flat subscription with quotas.
I'm just experimenting. Will this cost me anything?
No. The free tier is genuinely free — no credit card required, no time limit. You only start paying once your project is making real money ($500/mo+). Build, ship, see if it works. We make money when you do.
